Mission
The mission of Western Tidewater Free Clinic is to provide high-quality, non-emergency healthcare to residents of Western Tidewater who cannot otherwise afford it. Our values are to treat patients, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders with empathy, respect and honesty. The vision of Western Tidewater Free Clinic is a healthy community where all people will be inspired and enabled to make healthy lifestyle choices, to use preventive health care, and to access resources to live in a safe and wholesome environment. Our goal is to create caring solutions for a healthy community by providing compassionate, comprehensive, and coordinated care to those who often have nowhere else to turn.
What We Do
Western Tidewater Free Clinic (WTFC) serves as a comprehensive health home to our low-income (at or below 300% Federal Poverty Level), uninsured, underinsured and underserved patients who have no other place to turn for medical, dental, vision and specialty care, women's and mental health services, one-on-one patient education, and critical medications and medication counseling. There is not another full-time free safety net clinic in the 2,200 square miles that we serve (Suffolk, Franklin, and the counties of Isle of Wight, Southampton, Surry, and Sussex) .
