Strategic Partnerships Director and Senior Director

About the Role

Catchafire’s Strategic Partnerships team is the key revenue driver of the company and is intended to accelerate the adoption of Catchafire by companies, grantmaking foundations, philanthropic institutions, and, ultimately, professionals and nonprofits.

We also generate opportunities via thought leadership and key relationships. The essence of your role will be to forge new business partnerships and shepherd our high quality leads all the way to close. This includes developing sophisticated and effective proposals, managing a robust pipeline, cultivating relationships, and selling Catchafire through complex organizations.

Your success in this role will require you to operate effectively as a stellar enterprise sales person and an extraordinary problem solver, project manager, and team player.

Responsibilities for the Strategic Partnerships Director
  • Be at the center of a “deal team” including yourself, and a Partnerships Lead from start to finish:
    • Shepherd qualified leads to close by selling strategically through a complex organization
    • Work with Partnerships Lead to strategize on the arc of the sale, and execute flawlessly
    • Develop pricing, deal structure, proposal, and presentations to drive forward the sale
    • Work with Partnerships Lead to negotiate terms and close deals
  • Mentor supporting members of the deal team
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Accounts Team to ensure proper handoff from Partnerships to Accounts and to set up the new client for success; work with the Strategic Partnerships Team to strategically position the account for renewal
  • Work with the Product, Tech, and Accounts Teams to continually improve the design of our solution to meet the client’s objectives and best serve Catchafire’s long-term mission
  • Represent Catchafire at conferences and events as a speaker, panelist, or facilitator to improve build on our thought leadership

  • Lead our most innovative deals with high-profile clients from start to finish:

    • Negotiate terms and close
  • Manage and develop junior members of the partnerships team
  • Instill a culture of learning and innovation throughout the sales team
  • Work with the Product, Tech, and Accounts Teams to continually improve the design of our solution to meet Catchafire’s strategic objectives and best serve our long-term mission
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Accounts Team to set up the new client for success; work with the Enterprise Accounts Team to strategically position the account for renewal

Must Have:

  • As a Director you have 5+ years sales experience with 3+ years experience closing large deals or building client relationships. As a Senior Director you have 8+ years of relevant experience and 5+ years of closing large deals or building client relationships.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, philanthropic institution, or social enterprise, preferably with experience in Development or Major Gifts
  • Experience that establishes an intuitive understanding of how large organizations work and an ability to quickly speak the language of different companies and/or large foundations. Ideally, both.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying attention to detail

Product Data Analyst

Essence of the Role

As a Product Data Analyst, you will support the Director of Finance and Operations, and Product on a wide range of projects aimed to improve Catchafire’s ability to deliver impact to both our Enterprise partners and platform users.

Your work will be highly cross functional. You, along with the Director of Finance and Operations and Head of Product will form the Data Analytics function. This will be a horizontal function that touches every part of the Catchafire team: you will integrate and centralize data from each of our functions to guide the performance of the company as a whole.

YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO:
  • Develop and maintain data tools, models, and reporting processes to help functional teams access and evaluate critical data, and make data-driven decisions
  • Analyze data and develop, track, and assess KPIs across the organization, spanning Product, Marketing, Strategic Partnerships, Operations, and Finance
  • Refine and become an expert in our key performance metrics
  • Identify opportunities for improving processes or tools, and implement solutions
  • Work on special projects. Examples of these projects include setting up and running research studies with our partners and academic institutions, improve our reporting system to inform the adoption rate of our users, implement experiments to further our research.

Senior Associate, Foundation Accounts

Essence of the Role

As Senior Associate, you will be a part of the team entrusted with managing some of our largest and most impactful partnerships with grantmaking foundations. You will oversee and become the expert on 8-10 foundation clients around the country who are focused on community building, supporting local philanthropy, and elevating nonprofit organizations. You are responsible for program success and meeting metrics set with our clients in order to build measurable impact for our foundation partners. Through your experience with client management and project management, you’ll build lasting relationships with our partners and set the program’s long-term goals and direction.

You will be expected to:
  • Manage all program activities for the account, including:
    • Developing client management strategy
    • Relationship management activities such as coordinating and leading client calls and meetings and maintaining regular email communication
    • Ensuring that Catchafire has relationships with key strategic leaders in order to share our learnings and shape our partnership
  • Support the Accounts team on forward-looking, strategic client work such as program design, program reshaping, and renewal
  • Collaborate with internal teams to generate marketing, programming and deliverables for the client
  • Manage all program launch activities, including creating contact email lists, drafting copy, monitoring campaigns, and event planning
  • Monitor progression of ongoing programs against client success metrics and internal goals
  • Manage proprietary survey and research mechanisms that help Catchafire provide valuable insights to our foundation partners and to their nonprofits
  • Reporting engagement and nonprofit findings to your clients and Catchafire internal teams regularly

Senior Frontend Engineer

Essence of the Role

Catchafire is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to accelerate our adoption of modern frontend web technologies to facilitate development of our web application for skills-based volunteering. You must have extensive frontend web development experience using HTML/CSS and Javascript as well as experience using modern frameworks like Bootstrap, VueJS, Angular, and/or React. You should be familiar with automated frontend testing and should have experience integrating your code with at least one backend MVC framework.

The Catchafire platform team is a global agile team with a goal to develop world-class products and launch them successfully to our audience of passionate volunteers and inspiring nonprofits.

In addition to technical skills, you should be a self-motivated individual who can collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders both in person and remotely.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Catchafire engineering team peers to develop and test new features using Javascript and responsive HTML/CSS/SASS within a Django application.
  • Investigate and champion the adoption of new frontend technologies.
  • Work with Catchafire’s product team and other internal stakeholders to deliver value to our users, including developing ideas, establishing delivery dates, suggesting alternatives to increase ROI, improving UX, and supporting multiple devices.
  • Mentor full stack engineers to develop their frontend skills.

As Strategic Partnerships Associate, you will be supporting the Partnerships team as they develop sophisticated and effective proposals, manage a robust pipeline, cultivate relationships, and sell Catchafire through complex organizations. Responsibilities
  • Manage and optimize internal systems for the Strategic Partnerships Team in order to make the team as a whole stronger, faster, and more effective; take on increasing strategic responsibilities in order to create capacity for senior members of the business development team.
  • Support on lead generation strategy and execution.
  • Research leads, and help build prep materials for prepare the Strategic Partnerships team and CEO, while increasingly helping to craft the strategy for each lead.
  • Support in the development of presentations and proposals with both high quality content and preferably a strong design lens.
