Project details

What we need
  • Updates and/or fixes to Organization’s existing website (e.g., bug fixes, plugin or widget integration, etc.)
  • Training for up to 3 Organization staff members on how to resolve minor issues going forward (if applicable)
Additional details

We recently joined PNC bank and plan to utilize their merchant services as a credit credit card processing platform to collect donations via our website. We would like to update our website and request a web developer or developers to assist in the integration of this new credit card processing template. PNC Bank's tech team will work alongside the developer of this project to ensure best integration. Our annual fundraiser is November 21, hence the goal of having an updated site asap. Thank you!

What we have in place
  • We currently have a functioning website built on the Wix platform, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have access to PNC Bank merchant services tech team, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,757 , allowing us to have a sustainable and functional method for online donation collection, thus supporting the growth of our organization, furthering our mission to educate and expand our capacity to serve constituents

First off, we would like an easier template to collect donations directly on our website, in which donors can directly input their credit card information. In addition, we would like to implement the option to collect monthly donations. Last, as we are approaching our annual fundraiser, we often have donors unable to attend, hence the need to collect online donations. The addition of an updated credit card template will be rather attractive to new and repeat donors.

Youth Program Director / Assistant ED

Our mission

Our mission is to educate people of all backgrounds on basic nutrition principles and teach them how to plan and prepare simple, delicious and nutritious meals in a supportive and safe environment that fosters community spirit.

What we do

We provide healthy cooking enrichment and nutrition education programs to underserved youth, families and adults experiencing homelessness in DC. From full time aft-erschool to summer youth programs, WIC education programs for young families to adult education programs at local shelters; every experience includes the opportunity to cook in a safe, welcoming and collaborative learning environment. From ages 6 - 12 in our youth programs, young people learn how to cook healthy on a budget, develop critical thinking skills pertaining to health, learn about food/social justice topics and gain academic enrichment in the process! Adults at our shelter programs learn how to take control of their health and therefore seek a more sustainable pathway to prosperity. Young families learn how to cook for their children, shop smart and be mindful of their nutritional intake. We operate our programs at community centers, shelters, schools, housing sites and where ever duty calls! As the youth in our programs like to say: nutrition is the mission!
