Project details

What we need
  • An easily understood visual aid that communicates complex information
  • A high-resolution version of the Infographic in the Organization’s preferred format
What we have in place
  • We currently have an existing dataset to work with, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a dedicated staff person to help, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to run 1 summer school for Arctic youth on climate change adaptation.

We are looking for a graphic designer to help us create an infographic for our upcoming article series, "Beyond Carbon: Climate Change, Pollutants, and Their Hidden Arctic Consequences." In early March we are publishing a series of 3 research articles on methane, black carbon, and persistent organic pollutants in the Arctic - their effects on the ecosystem, communities, and how they are a part of climate change in the region. We need your help to make this important issue come to life for our readers in an engaging and visually appealing way!

Our mission

TAI envisions a world in which the Arctic’s diverse and complex sources of insecurity are identified, understood, and innovatively resolved. We hope to achieve this by informing Arctic policy across the circumpolar region through objective, multidisciplinary, and innovative social science research. We do this through publishing high-quality, open access research on a range of issues relating to security in the High North; providing innovative policy analysis and recommendations to policymakers a

What we do

The Arctic Institute is an independent international institute dedicated to research of and engagement in the many dimensions of Arctic insecurity. Established in 2011, TAI provides data, analysis, and recommendations to policymakers, researchers, media, and the interested public. Based in Washington, DC, TAI’s network of research associates extends across North America, Scandinavia, and the European Union.

Testimonials

Greg was a wonderful graphic designer to work with. Greg worked with the Arctic Institute every step of the design process in this project. He listened intently to our goals and design ideas, and then through his own expertise, insightfulness, and fantastic skills completed three beautiful infographics which we will be using this month. The resulting three infographics exceed our expectations. They translate complex scientific data on Arctic pollutants in a compelling and aesthetically pleasing way to a wider audience. I would highly recommend Greg to other organizations!

Infographic Project

From start to finish, it was a pleasure to help volunteer for Victoria Herrmann at The Arctic Institute. She had all the information available for me to get working right away. She was very receptive to my ideas and I enjoyed working on the infographics project while having lots of creative freedom. I highly recommend volunteering for The Arctic Institute.
