Flexible Finance Support
Flexible Finance Support
Project details
What we need
- Ongoing finance support for 10-15 hours over the course of 4 weeks
- Support may include: budgeting, planning, systems set up and review
- Note: We devised this project to connect nonprofits and volunteers for more flexible, more immediate impact. We strongly suggest you start with 4 weeks and decide from there if you'd like to continue working.
Additional details
We need help completing our 990. We have done 990EZ but need help understanding this longer form.
What we have in place
- I began working on our 2022 990 tax return and have input all the basic information. I need help with understanding the terminology and what goes where in regards to how we operate our organization. For example, what is considered a grant and/or financial assistance and how do we accurately define that information. Another example, how do I list employees if we receive no pay? How do I document expenses in the right place?
I have filed form 8868 and approved for an extension until 11/15/2023.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,094 , allowing us to dedicate those funds to building out our new financial literacy program.
Our non-profit status is very important and the 990 tax form has to be filed in order to stay in good standing. Help with this project will allow us to maintain status and report accurately for public review when requested by donors and partners.
Project plan
Our mission
Our mission is to motivate under-educated adult learners to obtain the education and career training necessary to be self-sufficient; we will create clear pathways to new opportunities that help restore dignity and improve quality of life.
What we do
We help individuals 17+ who did not complete high school by offering a 3-6 month alternative program that allows them to earn their Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (TxCHSE - formally GED).
