We transform lives through the prevention and treatment of avoidable blindness. With our network of partners, we mentor, train and inspire local teams so they can save sight in their communities.

What We Do

With the help of our amazing partners and supporters we have been a pioneer in the prevention and treatment of blindness for over 30 years. Since 1982 we have conducted training programs in over 92 countries and trained hundreds of thousands of medical professionals.

We have over 40 long-term projects around the world across countries including India, Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Vietnam, Ethiopia, South Africa, Ghana, Zambia, Cameroon, Peru, Mongolia and Indonesia.

With the support of our partners we have trained hundreds of thousands of doctors, nurses, biomedical engineers and eye care workers over the past 38 years. As a result we have positively impacted the lives of millions of men, women and children by conducting over 3 million screenings and examinations in 2018 alone.
