Mission

Educational Empowerment enriches lives and educates children, families and communities in SE Asia that have been severely affected by poverty and injustice. Education, whether in the form of folktale books, library access, teacher training, vocational training, or primary grade instruction, allows families to break away from extreme proverty.

What We Do

In Myanmar, EE promotes literacy through publishing of ethnic folktale books for poor primary grade children and development of community libraries, supports schools and libraries in poor townships surrounding Yangon, alleviates poverty through provision of microfinance low-cost loans and financial training, and supports teachers in monastic schools with training and classroom materials.
