We are City Scholars(r) Foundation.

We believe every child deserves a quality education regardless of their zip code or family income. Our passion for equity in education drives everything we do.

We help thousands of low-income youth, particularly those of color, have a better chance to learn and achieve against the odds by strengthening the leadership and accelerating the impact of critical education nonprofits.

What We Do

Children and youth in high-poverty, under-resourced neighborhoods count on quality education nonprofits to help them succeed both in and out of the classroom. As demand increases, these vital community organizations depend for their survival and success upon resourceful and resilient leaders who themselves need more than heart to keep the lights on and the doors open.

We partner with equity-minded corporations, foundations and individuals to sponsor our City Scholars(r) Fellowship for Education which provides continuing education, leadership coaching, mentoring, networking + critical accountability to empower a growing and diverse community of mission-driven education nonprofit CEOs who are distinguished as City Scholars(r) Foundation Fellows.

Partnering with executive volunteers, are Fellowship for Education helps Foundation Fellows grow after-school, school-based and out-of-school nonprofits from survival to success to significance for over 69,000 predominantly low-income youth each year.
