Mission

Our mission is to cultivate a nurturing interim living space for women in recovery from substance use disorder, reconnecting them with self, God, community and creation.

We do this by welcoming women who are committed to the hard work of recovery and providing them with a creative and relational space that fosters long-term transformation.

What We Do

Beneath the Shade residents will participate in group and individual studies throughout their stay that focus on healing trauma, basic financial management skills, relationship and community building, work ethics, and developing a relationship with God*. The women will work individually and as a group with counselors and a mentor, learn the important of exercise and volunteerism and participate in all the aspects of home care (meals, garden, yard care, taking care of the hens, etc.). They will also be required to work while they live at Beneath the Shade.
