Project details

What we need
  • A visual redo of the Organization's website
  • Design direction based on Organization's desired branding and style preferences
  • Mock-ups of key site pages
  • Commitment to 2 phone calls with a developer to guide initial front-end coding work
  • Note: We recommend this project for custom websites. If your site is built on a CMS platform like Wordpress or Squarespace that offers templates, you may not need this project. Check out our Website Content Plan project for help building a CMS-based website
What we have in place
  • Public website: http://trekmedics.org
    --Wordpress
    --Responsive theme: http://artbees.net/themes/jupiter/
--Content: programs, blog, database, archives, photos ... ***LIGHTS AND SIRENS***
    --Clear message
    --Lots of ideas (most unlisted)
--Looking for simplicity with room for expansion
    http://trekmedics.org/resources/media/
    http://trekmedics.org/database/
    Beacon User Website:
    --Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Angular
--Existing interface with multiple features that need to be re-designed to improve look and feel, active and archived emergency response incidents monitoring (i.e., 911 calls), and data collection and analytics. v2.0 is smoking, but we didn't have the funding to polish the design. That's what we're really in need of: polishing for our use, and polishing for promotional use.
How this will help
This project will save us $9,186 , allowing us to make our software accessible to our 3 most important clients: communities, partners and donors.

We're a nonprofit organization that develops 911 systems in countries that can't afford them. Part of this is through the use of our Beacon dispatching software, which crowdsources emergency response among trained community members via text message. We're about to launch Beacon v2.0 which was funded by a Google seed grant, and we need to improve our website in order to attract, inform, and sign up new partners. There are two components to this project: the public website and the Beacon user website. Getting both would be ideal, but either one would be phenomenal as skills and experience permit.
