Our mission

Waikiki Community Center's mission to care for our kupuna (elders), keiki (children) and community as `ohana (family).

What we do

Touch the Lives of Kupuna (elders) - We provide services to address whole-person wellness as well as urgent needs for seniors at risk of losing their independence and/or who need help accessing basic needs such as food, housing, medical care and transportation.

Close the Achievement Gap for our Keiki (children) - We providing quality early education and family support to close the persistent and growing achievement gap between children from low to moderate income families and their more advantaged peers.

Create a Stronger Community - We engage coalitions of community partners to build a stronger community, addressing issues of interest to community members such as disaster preparedness and pedestrian safety. Since the pandemic we dramatically increased support for the urgent needs of our seniors, families and unemployed visitor industry workers with our emergency food pantry and rental assistance services.

Testimonials

Alexandra was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was skilled, organized, and responsive. She really listened to what we needed and knew when and how to give us her professional opinion. We are thrilled with the results of our work with Alex and would love the opportunity to work with her again.

Website Copywriting Project

The Waikiki Community Center is a fantastic organization whose impact is wider and stronger than I ever anticipated. Their programs and support services truly do serve the *entire* community, with focus on those in need. I found Caroline to be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and appreciative. I feel great about this project and truly hope their updated website helps to bring in new members, donors, and more. I am glad to have helped serve the Waikiki community from afar!
