Project details

What we need
  • Assessment and recommendations for income-generating activities that will complement the Organization's current mission and existing programs
  • Actionable steps necessary to implement recommendations, alongside estimates of upfront time and monetary investment required
  • Challenges and potential risks identified in pursuing the plan
Additional details

We would like the action steps need to be realistic and attainable.

What we have in place
  • Second Chance Toys is getting loads of traction with partners and the media. We are seeking to reduce our dependence on the corporate channel by creating a more sustainable revenue stream. The Earned Income Plan will work well within our current business model and we're excited about working with a smart, passionate and experienced volunteer. The board chairman will be involved in this project so decisions can be made quickly in order to ensure the pace of the project. We have other ideas already in the works and understand the strategy and criteria for making this process successful.
How this will help
This project will save us $11,794 , allowing us to serve 10000 deserving children as well as help sustain our environment.

We are dependent on continued funding to drive the Second Chance Toys mission and impact on children and the environment. Beyond growing corporate support, we're looking for other creative ideas to drive revenue. As we have already demonstrated with our corporate partners, we like to make everything we do...FUN. And we are certain that lurking out there are ideas for complementary products and services that can help take Second Chance Toys to the next level.

Our mission

We keep gently used plastic toys out of landfills by donating them to children in need.

What we do

Second Chance Toys (SCT) rescues and redistributes gently used plastic toys to children in need through local community organizations while at the same time, helping our environment.

We conduct major toy collections through community-wide efforts during Earth Week (Apr) and Year-End Holidays (Nov/Dec).

With growing awareness and interest in our work, we have secured corporate grants enabling us to continue growing the 'clearinghouse' model connecting toy donors with collectors and collectors with recipient organizations.

We've completed major Earth Week and year-end holiday events with Kohl's, Viacom, Johnson & Johnson, Kidville, and P&G (Old Spice).

By providing the necessary resources, educational support and facilitating essential connections, SCT empowers families, schools, local businesses, religious/community organizations, mommy groups, and Girl Scouts among many others, to create their own local toy collection programs to drive impact and outcomes.

Please join us in our movement!
