What we need
  • Analysis of accounting needs and assessment of current accounting practices
  • Recommendations for process improvements and report generation
  • Recommendations for appropriate bookkeeping software and related costs (if necessary)
  • Implementation of chosen bookkeeping software (if necessary)
  • Training on data input and essential reports to generate
What we have in place
  • We currently have and regularly use QuickBooks, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a bookkeeper, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,779 , allowing us to send 5 underserved youth to camp this summer.

We have made major improvements in our accounting and bookkeeping systems over the last year. Now, we really need help with implementing use of classes or another system to track the expenditure of restricted funds seamlessly within QuickBooks, as well as the allocation of program v. administrative v. fundraising expenses.

Our mission

Steve's Camp at Horizon Farms empowers young people to develop healthy bodies, hearts, and minds. Our summer camp is the cornerstone of our work. At camp, participants learn healthy living, leadership, and problem-solving skills. During the school year, campers deepen these skills to emerge as leaders and prepare for fulfilling lives after high school.

What we do

The summer camp experience is the starting point of a journey that encompasses campers' high school careers.

Coming to camp allows underserved teens - many of whom have never been away from home before - to work toward developing healthy bodies, hearts, and minds in a new environment. However, creating lasting change in our campers’ lives requires more than twelve days each summer. So, we stay connected with camp alumni in several ways:

Weekend Workshops that keep campers connected to the camp community and help them prepare and plan for life after high school

In-School Enrichment Programming (currently a pilot) that provides intensive socioemotional and academic support to camp alumni and new recruits

Leadership Development through work opportunities for camp alumni, including our Counselor-in-Training program
