What we need
  • Ongoing marketing strategy support for 10-15 hours over the course of 4 weeks
  • Support may include: defining your marketing goals, determining the right marketing channels, messaging your program, branding, or defining your target audience
  • Note: We devised this project to connect nonprofits and volunteers for more flexible, more immediate impact. We strongly suggest you start with 4 weeks and decide from there if you'd like to continue working.
Additional details

We are working on a county wide tourism project. How can we market the entire county with all of the various nuances. We need one cohesive approach - the tagline is "Barry County - adventure is closer than you think!" With that tagline, what might be a catchy logo. Currently we don't do enough to encourage tourism year round. We have over 350 named lakes, trails, museums and nature preserves that we know should be commanding more than the 3% share of tourism in our region. We need you!

What we have in place
  • We currently have a tourism committee and local professional creative orgs, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have data, a tagline, video and photos & a general direction, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to spend our money on actually implementing the strategies you help us uncover.

The Barry Community Foundation is very collaborative in our work in many areas of our amazing county. There is an opportunity to draw from the surrounding metropolitan communities that surround our county - our county is literally the center of the West Michigan region. Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Lansing and Battle Creek are the cornerstones geographically, as well as drivable to major metropolitan areas, such as Detroit, Chicago, and Indianapolis.

  • Volunteer Manager provides overview of an ongoing marketing strategy need they have over the next 2-4 weeks
  • Volunteer and Volunteer Manager align on the scope of ongoing support that the Volunteer will provide to address this need

Step 1: Ongoing Support
  • Volunteer delivers ongoing support according to determined outline
  • Weekly check-ins to ensure support is being offered as agreed upon by both parties

Step 2: Training & Offboarding
  • Volunteer provides any relevant training to the Volunteer Manager to help them continue work, as necessary, after 4 weeks
