Management Skills Coaching
Management Skills Coaching
Project details
What we need
- Initial assessment of areas of strength, targets for improvement and specific areas of focus desired for the coaching sessions
- Up to 6 coaching sessions exploring areas such as motivation, empowerment, collaboration, communication, giving / receiving feedback & conflict management
- Wrap-up session with actionable steps and advice moving forward as a manager
Additional details
Our agency supervises volunteers who are tasked with high stakes work. We need facilitated sessions to assist us with managing these volunteers, with an eye towards retention.
What we have in place
- We receive most of our funding through state grants, so we are required to keep a great deal of data on hand. We have lots of raw data about the number of volunteers who are trained by our organization, how much ongoing training they receive, how long they serve, their stated reasons for leaving the organization, their age and demographics, etc.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,248 , allowing us to focus our funds instead of training volunteers, assisting youth, and improving the lives of children in foster care.
Our agency connects volunteers to youth in foster care to improve results. We currently work with 178 out of 450 kids in care. Ideally we would serve every child. To do so, we need to increase our volunteer recruitment but also to retain every volunteer we can. This project would hopefully give us insight how to manage our volunteers and retain them.

Our mission
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/ Prince George's County, Inc. is a volunteer-based organization that partners with the juvenile court to improve the lives of abused and neglected children living in foster care. With a strong commitment to diversity, CASA, Prince George's County trains and supervises volunteers from the community who advocate for the best interest of children, recognizing and respecting each child's individual needs. By providing a voice to children in the foster care system, it is the goal of CASA, Prince George's County to promote the timely placement of the children we serve in safe, permanent homes.
