Website Set Up (CMS-Based)
Website Set Up (CMS-Based)
Project details
What we need
- Set up of a new website using a Content Management System (CMS) like Wordpress, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, or Weebly
- Training to ensure Organization's staff members can update content and manage the site post-launch
- Note: We recommend that you do a Website Content Plan project first, so that you have all the content ready for your new CMS-based site. A CMS-based website can be maintained and updated easily - no coding required!
Additional details
Currently our website is set up with Drupal. We are open to staying with Drupal or potentially migrating our current work over to something like Wordpress (though we are concerned about the lack of security with Wordpress and the bugginess of some plugins). We'd like our new website to be pleasant to interact with and navigate, as well as simple to add content to for our staff members. We would also like to create a few stock graphics that we can continue to reuse over the next few years.
What we have in place
- We currently have 3 staff who are working on this project (but 1 team liaison), which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have all the content we would like to upload and a site map, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $16,822 , allowing us to hire a dedicated staff to continue building out our resource libraries and ensure quality, state-specific research and data to support grassroots activists.
Our work is extremely public facing, as we aim to educate both the public and policymakers on topics in energy policy and climate change. Though we rely heavily on outreach and communications, our website does not currently communicate our work in the public discourse because we do not have a dedicated website person currently on staff. Our website is completely outdated. A website that draws allies and political targets in to learn more about the reforms we are pushing for would ensure our move

Our mission
Alliance for a Green Economy (AGREE) works for safe, affordable energy and the development of a green economy in New York State. Our goal is a prosperous, safe, and healthy New York, fulfilling the promise of conservation, energy efficiency, and safe, clean renewable energy sources to end our state's reliance on wasteful and environmentally destructive forms of energy. The Alliance works to promote this transition to a carbon-free and nuclear-free future and educates the public about alternatives that can revitalize the economy and safeguard human health and the environment.
