Project details

What we need
  • Evaluation of current programmatic needs and how a program plan can address them
  • Recommendations for an appropriate course of action to reach the desired objectives, including guidance on how to allocate resources and measure success
  • Plan that outlines the resources and steps required to reach short- and long-term goals
Additional details

Designing a strategy centered around updating our STEM curriculum focused on introducing underserved youth to Aerospace and Aviation fields. We hope to outline a plan to design more engaging virtual content that's more than just PowerPoint slides. We want our students to become more 'hands on' with their learning even in an online learning system.

What we have in place
  • We can provide access to our previously designed STEM curriculum, including lesson plans, lesson powerpoints, and some previous in person activity outlines. We also have a logic model that outlines our overall programming strategy and goals for the organization that might provide helpful context. Our Mission statement can be provided as well to be sure we are staying within the realm of our influence.

A non-disclosure agreement will need to be signed before access is provided.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,775 , allowing us to implement the project strategy we build here and reach out to external resources and contractors to design new learning engagements.

With the ever present conflict of Covid 19, it has forced academic institutions and organizations to adapt their techniques. While AeroStar Avion Institute successfully shifted to delivering programming in an online environment, many of our previous hands on engagements are more difficult to deliver. By developing a suite of more engaging virtual curriculum, we can better reach our audience and develop new techniques to retain active learners.

Our mission

AeroStar's mission is to enhance, promote and support the academic awareness of aviation and aeronautical career path opportunities for students, particularly female, minority, underprivileged and at-risk youth. By providing aviation academic curriculum development, programs, activities and support services for youth Grades K-12, interested in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math, AeroStar has paved the way for the future of our industry. Due to the need to build capacity for a sustainable aviation talent pipeline through strategic partnerships, sponsors, donors and grants, The AeroStar Avion Institute Non Profit was formed.

What we do

The AeroStar Avion Institute delivers programs that teach skills necessary to not just participate, but LEAD in the next generation of STEM innovation. Students are immersed in inquiry-based learning, engineering design projects, they operate flight simulators, remote controlled helicopters, drones, RC airplanes and VR headsets. They also build model airplanes and rockets to specifications. They study and demonstrate extensive knowledge on flight theory, aviation weather, aircraft radio operation, aircraft cockpit instrumentation and STEM careers. We soar above other programs because we provide years of ongoing support to students interested in pursuing pathways in Aviation/STEM.
