What we need
  • Setup of selected accounting software (e.g. Aplos, Araize)
  • Training and guidelines on how to manage system and generate basic reports
Additional details

In need of assistance with learning how to enter data into Quickbooks,doing payroll through Quickbooks, and running reports through Quickbooks.

What we have in place
  • We currently have Quickbooks software, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have all the financial records, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,409 , allowing us to hire an accountant to do the bookkeeping

This will assist with the transition of the Treasurer doing the accounting to an actual accountant when the organization has the funds to hire an accountant

  • Volunteer Manager shares detailed description of existing financial record keeping and financial reporting system
  • Professional makes recommendations on accounting system reports to address the Organization's needs
  • Note: If necessary, Volunteer Manager may have Volunteer sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to sharing and discussing Organization’s financial information

Milestone 1: Implementation
  • Professional conducts financial data migration
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager check accuracy of migration
  • Professional sets up account admin privileges for Organization’s designated admin users

Milestone 2: Training & Handover
  • Professional provides basic training for Volunteer Manager and supporting staff for tracking and reporting needs including guidelines for continued use of system
  • Professional reviews above guidelines and tips with Volunteer Manager
  • Professional is available for up to two weeks to address questions as Volunteer Manager starts to adopt new bookkeeping system

Our mission

GAR exists to provide a safe haven for the off-track thoroughbreds, abandoned, or abused horses of the Virgin Islands. GAR strives to promote equine stewardship, humane treatment and community involvement through the rehabilitation and retraining of the horses and ponies in our care for use in educational youth programming, outreach opportunities and community events.

What we do

We offer horseback riding lessons for all ages, camps for youth to learn about horsemanship in the Virgin Islands, community events such as birthday parties and holiday events, and beach trail rides for visitng tourists as well as locals.

In the future, we hope to provide vocational training opportunities in equine professions to add to the revival of the agricultural industry in the Virgin Islands, equine assisted therapy for youth with disabilities, veterans, and those in need of mental health services, as well as become the hub for horsemanship resources in the Virgin Islands.
