Project details

What we need
  • Document that articulates in a consistent voice key messages about the Organization’s identity, constituents, mission, and vision
  • Creation of taglines and talking points to help the Organization communicate clearly and concisely
  • Recommendations on tailoring messaging for common communication channels (e.g., website copy, printed marketing collateral, pitching verbally)
What we have in place
  • We already have a communications outline and an active cross-team Communications Crew. We have a social reach of more than 180K on Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, & Goodreads. We also maintain a list of press contacts interested in covering domestic violence issues.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,440 , allowing us to provide lifesaving information and support to 170 victims of domestic violence through our WomensLaw Email Hotline.

We understand the importance of storytelling to the success of our mission; however, we have trouble identifying and sharing stories that accurately articulate the breadth and depth of, and desperate need for, our services in a compelling way. Without a consistent voice, we cannot connect with our donors and supporters meaningfully. This project will help to streamline, update, and ensure the consistency of our voice for connecting with partners, funders, and allies. This project will help increase donors and further the national campaign to end domestic violence and violence against women.

Our mission

NNEDV is a social change organization dedicated to creating a social, political, & economic environment in which violence against women no longer exists.

What we do

NNEDV makes domestic violence a national priority.
We are the leading voice for domestic violence victims and their advocates. As a membership & advocacy organization of state/U.S. territory domestic violence coalitions, allied organizations, and supportive individuals, we work closely with our members to understand the ongoing and emerging needs of victims and programs. Then we make sure those needs are heard and understood by policymakers at the national level.

NNEDV changes the way society responds to domestic violence.
We offer a range of programs and initiatives to address the complex causes and far-reaching consequences of domestic violence. Through cross-sector collaborations & corporate partnerships, we offer support to victims who are escaping abusive relationships – and empower survivors to build new lives.

NNEDV strengthens domestic violence advocacy at every level.
We further support the fight to end domestic violence by providing coalitions with critical information & resources. From training and technical assistance to innovative programs and strategic funding, we bring much-needed resources to local communities. At our national and regional meetings, members share information and ideas with us & with each other, working together to develop comprehensive solutions.
