Project details
What we need
- An edited 1-3 minute video delivered in electronic format as agreed upon between the Professional and Organization, with HD quality as a master version, along with any agreed upon formats for final usage
Additional details
The audience is congregations and individuals in the Northern Texas-Northern Louisiana Synod (geographic area) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We have established resources/technology to reach this audience. The video series will share the vision of generosity of the Mission Endowment Fund, share grant recipient stories, and announce the October fund raising event. The theme is Gifted and Giving and will solicit input from individuals, groups, and congregations.
What we have in place
- We currently have a pool of talent within our target to solicit raw data, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a successful video campaign in 2020 as a resource, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $18,732 , allowing us to grow the invested endowment fund. More dollars allow the MEF to allocate more funds on an annual basis to assist under-resourced ministries across our geographic area (Synod).
We are looking for a model video to create a cohesive series of solicited testimonial videos to raise the profile of the MEF with our constituency and to promote the fund-raising campaign which will premiere online in October. The fund-raising campaign has chosen a theme and we have access to the target audience through several media options. For the series of short videos, we need a format and suggested script for the contribution.
Project plan
Our mission
The Mission Endowment Fund supports new and existing community mission projects across the North Texas and North Louisiana Region. Our Endowment Fund grants support ministries such as food banks, educational scholarships, new programs in the Latinx communities and new initiatives for teens and young adults. We are launching a new program in 2021 to build awareness and promote legacy giving, which will provide funding to expand our support of new and existing ministries and programs across our region.
What we do
The 16-member Board of Directors manages the endowment investment and awards grants annually by approved application. We support new and creative ministries developed by the congregations and organizations in our geographic area to serve their communities, especially the underserved and vulnerable with feeding and educational programs and services. The Board is composed of lay and clergy members/leaders from our Synod (geographic area).
Testimonials
When Walt first accepted the challenge of this fund-raising, video story-telling project, he immediately supplied me with outline materials, ideas for requesting stories, and guidelines to share for those recording the videos. He continually provided a framework for the project as it grew incrementally after the start. So, overall, his knowledge of producing quality video stories guided the task force all the way to the end. And, specifically, his incredible patience to compile and edit 20 different stories from raw footage and then create a single cohesive story from all the input was even more valuable. Not only did he make the project enjoyable because he always always available for consultation, but he also turned everything around almost immediately. His skill, experience, and advice was much more than I ever expected. He definitely went beyond the deliverables on this project.
It was a pleasure working with Linda, the Executive Director of the MEF, on this project. She was a great collaborator on the concept, storyline and script for the videos and did a lot of work on the scripts. She always provided timely and relevant feedback on the video drafts I produced which made it easier to produce a quality product. Overall, she was a a joy to work with and I would welcome working with her or others in the organization again.
