Project details

What we need
  • A one-day intensive Salesforce training for up to five staff members
  • A document summarizing topics covered during training
Additional details

Our "database team" consists of myself (corporate experience managing tech projects but no formal tech or Salesforce experience) and 2 MIS interns from the local college. We've taken the NPSP and Admin beginner trails and are slowly building out a CRM. We would like a better understanding of "what's possible", some guidance on how to document requirements in a standardized way, and some guidance on how to proceed with our "vision" for the CRM, including protecting sensitive client information.

What we have in place
  • We have some very informal ideas and requirements that we jotted down and have already "released".
How this will help
This project will save us $1,564 , allowing us to focus on growing our support programs for local breast cancer patients.

Many of our clients (event attendees, program participants) are also our volunteers and donors. We're missing an overall picture of our constituents. We are currently very small and don't have very many constituents so most of the relationships and touchpoints are "in my head". We would like to have a solid infrastructure in place so that we are ready to grow.

Our mission

We improve the quality of life of Hawaii's breast cancer community by connecting them with relevant resources and meaningful support.

What we do

We publish curated resources through our website and social media, facilitate educational events, conduct one-on-one peer support, and host a variety of creative in-person programming.

Our latest program is the CARE Closet (Community Access to Reusable Equipment) where we connect donations of new and gently used items such as wedge pillows, wigs, and resource books to patients in treatment.

Testimonials

This was our first Catchafire project, and Mardi made it extremely easy for us to accomplish our goal. She showed us tips and tricks on using Salesforce efficiently as a nonprofit and provided us with a detailed guide to accompany her training session. In addition, she studied our Salesforce instance so that she could provide customized walkthroughs and suggestions for improvements. We provided her with a list of specific questions that she had and she covered all of them in addition to the training topics. She explained each of the topics in a way that was easy to understand for our team. She is extremely knowledgeable on NPSP and how to best utilize Salesforce in a nonprofit setting. We would definitely recommend her for any nonprofit's Salesforce needs :)
