What we need
  • Set up of Organization's account in email marketing software (possible tools include Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Campaign Monitor)
  • Imported contact list into software with guidance on list cleaning & management
What we have in place
  • We currently have a website, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a Mailchimp account, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,640 , allowing us to purchase laptops and offer WIFI services to our participants

This project will help New Vision Foundation further tell our story by helping us manage and grow our mailing lists, create custom email templates, and automate our future marketing campaign. We would like to improve communication to keep future/present participants informed by creating more personalized content.

  • Professional and Volunteer Manager meet to discuss goals, budget, and needs for email marketing
  • Professional recommends software based on Organization's needs and budget
  • Volunteer Manager shares CSV of contacts with email addresses, first names, last names, and any other relevant information

  • Professional sets Organization's account up in selected software
  • Professional instructs Volunteer Manager on how to verify Organization's domain so that Volunteer Manager can send communications on behalf of the Organization

Coding Instructor

Our mission

New Vision Foundation is an immigrant-led nonprofit organization whose mission is to create pathways to success by motivating disadvantaged youth in Minnesota through coding and digital literacy classes. Core customers are African immigrant youth aged 13-18 years, and the communities working to engage them as part of larger education, employment and economic development strategies.

What we do

Key program areas are:
1. Coding Classes. Course work begins with fundamentals of coding and advances to cover all specialized aspects of Information Technology. These classes will help the participants increase skills in coding, digital literacy, data-driven decision-making, problem-solving and critical thinking.
2. Internship: We have partnered with STEP-UP/Achieve MPLS, Right Track in St Paul, and Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) to secure IT internships for program participants.
3. Mentorship: We have partnered with local institutions of higher education to provide each participant with a mentor to provide guidance on life and career choices.
4. E-pal Program: We create digital collaborations between local participants and their peers in NVF programs in East Africa, to facilitate cross -cultural communication and learning.
5. Community Engagement: We facilitate community engagement opportunities for parents, families and the broader community centered on positive use of technology.
