Project details

What we need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
Additional details

We currently have a 12-1/2 page Employee Handbook for our 10 employee organization, but would like to review and update it, and include new policies especially around communication and social media.

We also are interested in ideas for creative offering of benefits to a crew with diverse needs (some covered under spouse plans, some needing full family coverage, some on Medicare).

What we have in place
  • We currently have an Employee Handbook, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a dedicated employee and a board policy committee, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to continue networking with other organizations and constituents to develop high-impact projects connecting food producers (farmers and entrepreneurs) to consumers and buyers.

We are a thriving nonprofit doing well overall. With the changing environment around us, and employees now working from home, we want to take the opportunity to update our personnel policies. We recently had an issue where a community member responded to an employee's (work-related) posting on social media, and realized we don't have policies governing this realm. We are a friendly and accepting organization, but see the need for strong policies that employees can rely on for guidance.
