What we need
  • Initial assessment of areas of strength, targets for improvement and specific areas of focus desired for the coaching sessions
  • Up to 6 coaching sessions exploring areas such as motivation, empowerment, collaboration, communication, giving / receiving feedback & conflict management
  • Wrap-up session with actionable steps and advice moving forward as a manager

I have recently become a field supervisor providing reflective supervision to our home visitors. I am also part of the management team for our small organization. I would like to improve my ability to motivate, empower, and give critical feedback to the staff.

This project will save us $7,248 , allowing us to provide more educational services to our community.

I want to help our home visitors develop their strengths and challenge themselves to higher standards so that we can deliver the best possible services to our clients.

  • Professional and Volunteer Manager discuss perceived areas of strength, areas of improvement, and asses direct report or team motivation and morale
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager decide on specific areas to focus on and goals for each coaching session
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional discuss if feedback from direct reports, peers or managers should be part of the process

Milestone 1: Coaching Sessions
  • In-depth coaching sessions on topics like motivation, empowerment, collaboration, communication, giving / receiving feedback & conflict management
  • Ensure each session is followed by a trial period to apply the skills and report back at subsequent sessions on the outcomes, learnings and follow-up questions
  • [Suggested Session] Motivating and empowering direct reports to achieve the most productivity, creativity and job satisfaction
  • [Suggested Session] Effective communication and strategies how to give and receive feedback to ensure a constructive relationship between managers and direct reports

Our mission

Our mission is to strengthen the capacity of families to nurture, support and provide for their child's academic development, emotional growth and physical wellbeing by establishing effective relationships between home and school. We accomplish this by utilizing the Parents as Teachers Home Visiting Model with families and school districts across Chautauqua County.

Management Skills Coaching Project

Coaching Willow has been a rewarding experience. She came into the coaching partnership fully engaged to be open, listen and apply the many management skills and competencies we discussed weekly for 6 weeks. She never missed a session, asked great questions and made serious efforts in learning a coaching model I role played for her. We covered growth mindset, coaching and development, employee recognition, building trust, getting to know your employees, motivation & empowerment, delegation and many other relevant manager competencies. I wish Willow much success and feel very confident of her ability to grow into a strong inspirational leader who excels building a highly engaged team..
