What we'd like to talk about
I'd like to brainstorm ideas for incorporating professional development into the monthly goals of our volunteer-run nonprofit. We started with member orientation, but need ideas for upcoming months.
Additional context
Social Justice for Us was born out of the 2020 anti-racist uprisings with a mission to uplift the voices of marginalized people in Marquette, Michigan. Our vision is to promote socially aware critical thinking by providing education, spreading awareness, demonstrating peaceful community collaboration, and distributing resources locally.
"Phone calls" are 1 hour, one-time calls with an organization. Learn the difference between volunteering on a Phone call and a Project here.
Our mission
Social Justice For Us is uplifting the voices of marginalized people in Marquette. In rural, predominantly white communities, it's hard to organize any one group for underrepresented peoples, including but not limited to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and impoverished communities. Oppression is intersectional, so we have created a united front to fight against injustice and to promote education.
