Organizational Strategy Call

Call details

What we'd like to talk about

need help to outline steps & undertake needed board recruitment & bylaw review/refresh but lack leadership, are in transtion from founders & have not reviewed mission or organization goals for decade.

Additional context

there are issues with disagreement. there is push for immediate action and whether catchafire is the right approach. i am founder/chairman and am pushing it. We had a good catchafire project with Kate Carroll on governance issues.

"Phone calls" are 1 hour, one-time calls with an organization. Learn the difference between volunteering on a Phone call and a Project here.

Our mission

The Mission is to enrich the lives of the community and visitors with a rural-tourism experience. RVF aims to foster appreciation and preservation of its natural, historical, ecological, and agricultural resources, and to encourage recreation and a healthy lifestyle in the Rockfish Valley.

What we do

The Rockfish Valley Foundation (RVF) is based in Nelson County, Virginia, near Nellysford.

The facilities at RVF include trails along the Rockfish River, the unique Spruce Creek Park off Glenthorne Loop at 1368 Rockfish Valley Highway, Nellysford with its Children's Nature Trail, Natural History Center and Museum, the Native Plant Walk, and plenty of picnic tables.

RVF sponsors several community-wide events during the year. These events this year have been virtual, but after restrictions are lifted, we will return with our usual events. Although the Natural History Center and Museum is closed due to COVID-19 Pandemic, when restrictions are lifted we will re-open the Center on weekends for visitors
