I am an HR department of one in a growing non-profit. While I have some HR background; as we grow, I just need to make sure that the practices I have put in place are comprehensive and make sure that I am not missing anything. I am currently writing SOP's for every aspect of my job and could use some feedback as to whether I am covering all the bases.
Our organization has seen exponential growth and I want to make sure that we are compliant in all areas of responsibility and provide our employees with all the training and support they need to set them up for success. Having someone look at what is in place and help in areas that are not where they need to be would make us a stronger organization and provide clarity for employees.
Our mission is to provide an innovative vocational and residential commuity for adults with special needs, and to change the way the world views this population.
Our participants, who we call "Citizens," are adults with challenges such as autism, brain injury, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, epilepsy, and other diagnosed genetic differences. BiG believes that these individuals each possess unique talents and abilities, and we strive to give them the platform to share those gifts with our community.
Everything they make is sold in a beautiful gift shop (voted the Best Boutique in Georgetown the last three years in a row), a cafe (with a five-star rating on Yelp), and an online store. We have 80 Citizens on 3 campuses who have become artisans, bakers, gardeners, card makers, jewelry makers, and more.
