Project details

What we need
  • A document with detailed feedback and edits that ensures an Organization's business plan clearly defines its mission and approach, finance and operating structure, and tracks to key performance indicators
Additional details

Our nonprofit would like to branch into creating a for-profit business, marketing our educational program materials, training, and nonprofit operations starter kits and consultations for other organizations and educators. We would like to start with assistance in designing a business plan/model.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a target audience and an outline of materials we would like the audience to subscribe to with an idea of how we want to set up our subscription services.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,828 , allowing us to have a well-made business plan created in partnership with an expert in this field ensuring the longevity of the business because it was done *right* from the very beginning.

Our goals are two-fold: 1) to provide more tools and materials for other nonprofits (or those who want to start a nonprofit), organizations, and educators, and 2) to generate an additional form of revenue for our organization.

Our mission

Community Action Network partners with children, youth, and families from under-resourced Washtenaw County neighborhoods to create better futures for themselves and improve the communities in which they live.

What we do

CAN operates programs at multiple community centers throughout Washtenaw County focused on education for children and youth, stabilization, and community building.

Education: CAN partners with the community to operate after-school and summer programs so children and youth striving to overcome financial and environmental barriers can achieve their highest academic potential and become successful, self-support, well-adjusted adults.

Stabilization: CAN helps families meet their basic needs through operating regular food distributions, emergency pantries, providing free meals during educational programs, and resource referrals so they can create brighter futures for themselves.

Community Building: CAN partners with community members to create and maintain clean, safe, and nurturing communities where families thrive.
