Project Details

What We Need
  • 1-2 page press release that can be distributed to news outlets
Additional Details

We need help putting together a press release for our upcoming event the SRLA In It for the Long Run 5K - the first event in our 2020 - 21 SRLA Season

What We Have In Place
  • We currently have past press releases and information about the event, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have dedicated communications staff who can assist you, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How This Will Help
This project will save us $1,348 , allowing us to provide 5 students with everything they need to get to the marathon finish line

This News Release will help us spread the word that, despite all of the challenges our community is facing this year, our students are setting off on the 6 month road to the LA Marathon and getting a running start.

Project Plan

Prep: Information Gathering
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional discuss initiative, partnership, or event that Organization wishes to publicizes
  • Volunteer Manager shares existing marketing materials, mission statement, and program descriptions for Professional to incorporate into press release
Milestone 1: Press Release Writing
  • Professional writes draft of press release and shares with Volunteer Manager
  • Volunteer Manager gives feedback, which Professional incorporates
  • Professional delivers final version of press release
  • (Optional) Volunteer Manager incorporates Press Release into Press Kit
