Employee Handbook
Employee Handbook
Project details
What we need
- Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
- Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
Additional details
We'd like an Audit of our existing Employee Handbook (created through a law firm a few years ago) so we can address some employee feedback including that the way it is written is perceived as heavy on legalese and is not a document that staff often reference. Any feedback on policies or flow of the document would be helpful to our growing organization!
What we have in place
- We currently have the existing employee handbook, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have information related to state-specific requirements, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to put more funds into programs and research addressing air pollution, groundwater contamination, indoor air pollutants, transitioning to renewables, and energy equity.
We're a growing nonprofit organization (we have 2 open positions!) and having a review & audit of our existing document ensures we're able to recruit and retain staff to do important scientific research in energy and energy policy, public health, the environment, and climate change.
Project plan
Our mission
Physicians, Scientists, and Engineers (PSE) for Healthy Energy is a multidisciplinary, nonprofit research institute that studies the way energy production and use impact public health and the environment. We share our work and translate complex existing science for all audiences.
We put our mission into practice by integrating scientific understanding across multiple disciplines, including engineering, environmental science, and public health. We conduct original research, translate existing research for nontechnical audiences, and disseminate scientific information and analyses to inform policy at the local, state, and federal levels.
What we do
Our three formal areas of research -- Clean Energy, Energy and Environment, and Environmental Health -- address energy production, public health, and the natural environment. We publish vetted scientific analyses to fill knowledge gaps in these areas and to inform evidence-based policy at the local, state, and federal levels.
Testimonials
Linda was a great help to our organization and wonderful to work with on this project! Her skills, professionalism, and keen eye for gaps in our existing employee handbook were immensely helpful in bringing our growing organization into compliance while also making the document easier to navigate and incorporating our Organization's branding!
