Board Organizational Guidelines
Board Organizational Guidelines
Project details
What we need
- Review of current board policies and procedures
- Document outlining best practices for meetings and communication, including cadence and tool recommendations
Additional details
The board of our small nonprofit has begun a review of our bylaws and would appreciate guidance. The organization is undergoing structural change - from a tradition Executive Director to a shared or team leadership model and we recognize an opportunity / need to examine current board governance practices. We began with a review of the bylaws, as a starting point, and hope to emerge with a foundational tool to guide board policies and procedures going forward.
What we have in place
- We currently have existing bylaws, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a board governance subcommittee, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,610 , allowing us to continue building community and food access in and throughout Maine.
This project is an important step to improving board engagement and performance to support an organization that is doing good and necessary work.
