Mission, Vision & Values
Mission, Vision & Values
Project details
What we need
- Review of existing mission, vision and/or values
- Analysis of the existing programs and any future plans
- Strategic consultation surrounding the existing functions and the core needs the Organization seeks to address
- Freshly written mission, vision & values statements
Additional details
We need to freshen up our mission and vision statement, and write a values statement for the first time.
What we have in place
- We currently have mission and vision statements and organization history, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have an example of a values statement we like from another org, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,248 , allowing us to invest our time and funds into strengthening our programs and making them accessible to all community members during this COVID era.
This project idea developed as our organization grappled with the George Floyd incident. We realized that we had no stated values to direct a response or guide future activities, programs, and decisions about any number of complex issues. We are doing some self-reflection as an organization to identify how we can address equity and justice within our frameworks of literacy, youth development, and substance use prevention. We think a values statement is a critical first step.
Project plan
Our mission
To provide evidence-based learning and developmental strategies in collaboration with other organizations to help individuals reach their full potential.
What we do
LITERACY SERVICES:
Our literacy services include one-on-one tutoring for children and adults. We offer the Barton Reading and Spelling program, which helps students who are a year or more behind in reading. We tutor adults who are building basic education or workforce skills, as well as those who are learning English as a second language. Our learners gain new skills and move on to become successful students, gain employment, and become engaged in the local community.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT:
Our youth development and prevention services team offer classroom- and community-based youth substance use prevention and leadership to community coalitions on substance use disorder prevention and treatment. We work collaboratively to create a community that encourages positive norms for teens and a supportive environment for individuals in recovery from substance use disorder.
CONSULTING & EVALUATION:
Through our consulting and evaluation services, we support agencies across Midland County to improve their evaluation and outcome measures. In doing so, we collaboratively build stronger youth and families.
Testimonials
Christine brought experience and expertise to our process of crafting our values statements. She provided an outside perspective that helped drive our organization forward in developing our values statement. We love how she helped us evaluate what matters most to our organization and helped us to pull those into powerfully-worded values statements. This process also helped us evaluate and revise our vision and mission statements. She brought thoughtfulness and creativity to the process and was great to work with.
