What we have in place
- We have a list of updates we want to be made, can provide access to WordPress CMS admin, visual branding, and a person to assist on the project.
We request the Professional's guidance on the latest technical updates/plugins best for nonprofit work, alignment with virtual learning, optimal use of video, best ways to use the site for fundraising, SEO analytics/metatags, a possible change in CMS platform, and suggestions for ongoing maintenance.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,586 , allowing us to invest this in virtual programming and help us continue to provide STEM exposure and opportunities to underrepresented metro Detroit K-12 youth, as we have for 40+ years.
Like many others, the COVID-19 pandemic has required us to make significant changes. Our programming is going from in-person to virtual. We need to align curriculum, help us stay engaged with key audiences, get us in front of and attractive to new supporters. Digital is now a must-have elemen, not a nice-to-have supplement. As COVID-19 has also impacted financial support, we want to use the site in optimal ways for fundraising.
Project plan
Our mission
DAPCEP is an educational 501(c)3 organization providing high quality and standards-aligned science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programming to youth in metropolitan Detroit. Our mission is to increase the number of historically underrepresented students who are motivated and academically prepared to pursue degrees leading to STEM careers. We achieve this with supplemental educational programming for Pre-K to 12th grade students by partnering with schools and universities to develop and facilitate engaging curricula. We are driven to increase the number of students who graduate from high school and pursue degrees and/or careers in STEM fields.
What we do
We work to ensure that minority students who possess the talent, intelligence, and capacity to excel in STEM fields receive the training and preparation required to develop their skills and build confidence. We believe that with access to high-quality academic experiences at an early age, these students will grow into STEM leaders and help ensure that the future workplace is diverse and reflects the unique strengths of people from an array of backgrounds.
Our students receive the introductory training needed to increase their aptitude in STEM topics. Through hands-on experience in a variety of courses and program offerings, DAPCEP helps students develop the motivation and awareness of skills necessary for academic achievement and successful careers.
