Board Structures & Role Definitions
Board Structures & Role Definitions
Project details
What we need
- Document outlining relationship of board to your organization and metrics of board success
- Document outlining scope of roles within board, including empty seats if applicable
Additional details
I would like to establish an advisory board for Curemonos so that they can assist in growing the organization. The advisory board would be similar to the existing board of the organization, but without the governance and oversight responsibilities. The advisory board would lend their expertise and provide resources to Curemonos.
What we have in place
- We currently have Board Roles, Responsibilities and Expectations document, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have Board Scorecard, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,882 , allowing us to provide programs to medically underserved/uninsured women by educating them about the importance of breast health awareness and connecting them to free breast and cervical cancer screenings.
It is very difficult to recruit Board members since many individuals do not have the time commitment. Furthermore, they do not want to be responsible for providing oversight/governance as well as fundraising for the organization. Since the expectations/responsibilities of an advisory board are less than a regular board, it will be easier to recruit board members to provide their expertise(e.g. marketing, web design, legal, accounting, etc) to help grow the organization.
Project plan
Our mission
Curémonos mission is to provide education, support and advocacy to medically underserved women, primarily Latinas, affected by breast cancer.
What we do
Curémonos helps underserved Latinas through breast health education and personalized patient centered advocacy. We advocate with hospitals, physicians and community organizations to help patients and their families navigate the complex health system to obtain appropriate care in a timely, efficient and culturally accessible manner. By encouraging early diagnosis and treatment, patients obtain better health outcomes. Our services also benefit medical providers since patients overcome barriers to maintain and complete their treatment regimens as well as save hospitals, doctors, and taxpayers valuable time and money.
