Additional details

Our program teaches a social and emotional skills curriculum to preschool classrooms 2 days per week. This is not enough, and we want to support teachers to be engaged in the program--both during lessons and outside of the lessons. We have some program guides, along with a collection of activities that can help reinforce lessons and support social-emotional growth in young kids, and we want to compile this into a Program Guide for teachers in participating classrooms.

What we have in place
  • We currently have the text for all of the activities., which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have the title, purpose, and skills for each lesson, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,002 , allowing us to fund staff time so that we can support classroom teachers to meet the social and emotional needs of kids in their classroom.

In order to develop skills, kids need regular opportunities to practice those skills. Our program teaches two 20 minute lessons in the "Al's Pals: Kids Making Healthy Choices" curriculum to each classroom every week. Extension activities will support classroom teachers to incorporate the curriculum concepts throughout the day/week/month and provide kids with the opportunities to practice social skills and problems solving skills introduced through the formal lessons.
