Individual Donor Letter
Individual Donor Letter
Project details
What we need
- A concise, well-articulated letter (not exceeding two pages) to request funds from individual donors
What we have in place
- We currently have several examples of appeal letters that have been used, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a photo bank, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,140 , allowing us to serve more youth, more meaningfully.
Urban Boatbuilders has become increasingly involved with individual donors, with individuals gifts making up 33% of total revenue in 2019. Appealing to donors through written letters has been a tried and trued method for fundraising at Urban Boatbuilders, and now is the time to perfect the process.
Project plan
Our mission
It is the mission of Urban Boatbuilders to empower youth to succeed in work and life through woodworking and experiential learning.
What we do
In 1995 a small group of community leaders saw an increased lack of opportunities for youth to learn and develop through hands-on activities, and thus formed the nonprofit Urban Boatbuilders. Since that time, this lack of hands-on opportunities has increased, along with youth unemployment rates and an increased emphasis on standardized testing in schools. Urban Boatbuilders seeks to address the gap this creates for youth to gain technical, social, and emotional skills that will prepare them to pursue their academic and vocational goals. Since Urban Boatbuilders was founded more than 20 years ago, the foundations of hands-on learning and skill-building have been used to create and continuously improve strong programs that help youth prepare themselves to pursue their own success in the modern world.
