Project details

What we need
  • A concise, well-articulated letter (not exceeding two pages) to request funds from individual donors
Additional details

The East Cut Community Benefit District is attempting to build a coalition of property owners and companies that will support the maintenance and operations of a to-be-built park. The estimated park budget is $1.3M and we have an estimated $750k in revenue currently. The adjacent property owners (commercial and residential buildings) will received great benefit from the park. The catch is these property owners already pay a fee into the district and we need to make the case to investing more.

What we have in place
  • We currently have park designs, a proposed budget, and map of adjacent entitie, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a few owners that have verbal expressed a willingness, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,240 , allowing us to invest in a temporary community garden to demonstrate the need and demand for park space.

The East Cut is San Francisco's fastest growing neighborhood. With already over 12,000 residents and there is a desperate need for community serving park space. In the densest part of the city the respite, recreation, and health benefits that a park will provide are enormous. The East Cut was formed to fund and activate park spaces, and while the capital to build the park is available we cannot advance the project with the operating income.
