Online Research
Project details
What we need
- A compilation of research on a specific topic (e.g. industry best practices, literature review, media contacts, industry trends, etc.) including a list of sources
- Recommendations on areas for further exploration/research
- Note: This project is not designed to be used for prospect or grant research
Additional details
We need help researching press contacts who specifically write about independent film and media. Even more specifically documentary film and social issue documentary. National and local contacts. At the moment we have a press release to go out in the next two weeks about our MediaMaker Fellowship which is a national program but in the future, we may have smaller scale needs.
What we have in place
- We currently have a draft of a press release, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have one Journalist to reach out to, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,239 , allowing us to increase fundraising for the program and develop new ways to support independent filmmakers.
The BAVC MediaMaker Fellowship is an incredible program that is nationally recognized, one-of-a-kind, and beloved by alum, but we've never had the press contacts and strategy needed to make an announcement that matches the scope and importance of the work. We would love to give our filmmakers the exposure of a real announcement in a national publication and it would help the program tremendously!
