Storytelling
Storytelling
Project details
What we need
- A compelling narrative, or set of stories
- Persuasive copy that can be used in appeals to donors, annual reports, grant applications, and media relations
- Popular examples: Organization's founding story, a program achievement or milestone, a look back at the past few years, organizational backgrounder, etc.
- Note: This project is not intended to support your general content planning or marketing but there are several projects in our Marketing & Communications category which are a good fit!
What we have in place
- We currently have clients and staff who work with them to interview, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have consult with our Advancement Director for context, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to direct these savings directly to our shelter operations (staffing, programming for clients, facility upgrades)
180 Degrees does great work but has low awareness. We have serveral different programs. Packaging up a series of stories, using the same voice/tone, will deliver a more cohesive impression of our impact -- and increase fundraising. This, in turn, helps us deliver better service to our clients.
Project plan
Our mission
180 Degrees provides emergency shelter and supportive programming for homeless and at-risk youth, girls who are victims of sexual exploitation, and men rebuilding lives following incarceration. Programs are located in the Twin Cities metro area including St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Excelsior, Minnesota and in two rural communities, St. Cloud and Rochester.
Founded in 1971, 180 Degrees' first program was a halfway house for ex-felons needing housing, employment, and connection. Through acquisition and programming, 180 Degrees expanded to include additional shelters. Almost all of our clients lives below the Federal Poverty guideline and 85% are people of color.
