Project details

What we need
  • Significant update to Organization’s existing CMS website, such as adding a new page, customizing a theme, adjusting layout, etc.
  • Smaller update to Organization's non-CMS website
Additional details

We're looking for a web developer who has experience with building Wordpress templates, who can implement the recommendations made after a website audit , and work with the website visual design update volunteer as well. We have screens and elements, we need someone to convert it to a Wordpress template and connect our video database, including plugins for functions such as automating "next video" recommendations after finishing each video, and to advise/implement best plug-in for donations.

What we have in place
  • We currently have website visual designer, and SEO/Google Analytics volunteer, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have lots of documentation outlining the to-do list, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,586 , allowing us to cover one and a half months of compensation for our programs manager who can increase the reach of our services (programs)

Our activities our mostly online, we are mostly a digital platform for sharing films and stories about women's and girls' rights. We aren't anywhere near to fulfilling our change making potential mostly because the user experience of our film library is poor. Additionally, the many bugs and complicated code written into our current website is slowing down the site in a way that clearly increases the bounce rate.

Milestone 1: Kick-Off Meeting
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional connect to discuss requested updates, and agree on a project timeline
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with credentials to access the website admin portal

Milestone 2: Review Updates
  • Professional makes the requested updates to the website (if available, the changes should be made in a test or development environment first)
  • Volunteer Manager reviews each update, and reports any remaining issues to the Professional

Milestone 3: Implementation of Updates
  • Professional implements updates to the live website
  • Professional troubleshoots any issues that may arise immediately after implementing changes on the live site
