Website Construction (CMS-Based)
Website Construction (CMS-Based)
Project details
What we need
- Development of a new website using a Content Management System (CMS)
- Training to ensure Organization's staff members can update content and manage the site post-launch
- Note: This project is for a website built with a Content Management System (CMS), such as Wordpress, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, or Weebly . A CMS-based website can be maintained and updated easily (no coding required!)
Additional details
Background: We currently have a Wordpress website managed by a third party and the back end is beyond complicated to the point where we cannot update it ourselves. I have used Wordpress before at other organizations with no issues.
Need: We want to start from scratch and build our own that we can manage and keep up to date ourselves. We are looking for someone with Wordpress expertise as we want to stick with Wordpress.
What we have in place
- We currently have A Wordpress-experienced staff person, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a current website full of content, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $16,822 , allowing us to provide more lessons to the students in our programs.
This project will allow us to take control of our online presence and keep our website up to date instead of relying on a third party that does not often understand the urgency of our requests to do with content updates. For instance, we have asked repeatedly for the registration page for our Gala from last September to be taken down, and it is still live on our home page.
Project plan
Our mission
Soundscapes is a nonprofit youth development organization in Southeastern Virginia that uses music instruction and performance to foster life skills in students from early childhood to early adulthood.
What we do
Soundscapes provides daily after-school music programs, a regional youth orchestra, and several week-long summer camps. Through Soundscapes, youth from 1st grade through age 25 develop skills that prepare them to be today's successful students and tomorrow's engaged citizen artists.
Testimonials
Sandra was lovely to work with. It was great getting to know her. She really cared about our organization.
