Project details

What we need
  • Boilerplate descriptions of Organization or program (50-, 100-, and 200- word versions)
  • List of keywords to use & words to avoid when writing about Organization or program
Additional details

Our agency has very different clients, audiences, and areas of expertise. We also will need to contextualize violence in a savvy way, given the various types of funders we have.

What we have in place
  • We currently have our website: https://also-chicago.org/also_site/, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have FB:https://www.facebook.com/alsosafehomesafestreets/, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,002 , allowing us to have this valuable resource, which we otherwise would not be able to afford.

Because of the varied expertise and targeted work of staff members at ALSO, everyone has a different way of talking about their work. This project would help people at ALSO communicate more clearly about work across the agency and then how they support the agency mission to "work in partnership with people living in risk of violence to promote safer homes and streets" within their specific roles.

Our mission

ALSO works in partnership with people living in risk of violence to promote safer streets and homes.

ALSO's Vision: Safe Homes, Safe Streets

What we do

Established in 1998, the Alliance of Local Service Organizations (ALSO) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois. We recognize that violence in homes and streets can be connected, and we work to end both. Our mission is to work in partnership with people living in risk of violence to promote safer streets and homes. Our vision is: Safe Homes, Safe Streets. Locally, ALSO works directly with residents of predominately Puerto Rican and African-American neighborhoods in Chicago's northwest side through its Safe Streets outreach intervention program, re-entry and youth employment services. In addition, through training, consultation and resource-sharing, ALSO works with governmental and nongovernmental agencies throughout the 56 U.S. States and Territories to build their capacity to address domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Testimonials

Zoe was a great listerner, and really worked to understand what our agency is trying to communicate. She was responsive and produced great results. Great to work with, even through pandemics!
