Project details

What we need
  • An edited 1-3 minute video delivered in electronic format as agreed upon between the Professional and Organization, with HD quality as a master version, along with any agreed upon formats for final usage
Additional details

I have several short video clips that I would like to be edited for our website/social media to highlight our programs, events and encourage donations.

What we have in place
  • I have several video clips on my phone and can provide logos and any additional information needed.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,034 , allowing us to direct those funds towards imperative services, such as emergency financial aid to pay for rent, utilities and travel costs for crime victims.

Visual storytelling is something that our organization is in need of. We have very compelling stories of the impact of our services but we do not have the technical skills/capacity to video edit and share these amazing stories.

Project plan

P
Prep: Information Sharing & Asset Exchange
  • Volunteer Manager provides overview of vision and goals for video, as well as information about target audience
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional agree upon file format and length of video
  • Volunteer Manager collects collateral (e.g. raw video footage, photos, testimonials, media materials) to be edited into the video, and digitizes all the materials in the format and resolution suggested by the professional. If applicable, the Organization provides links to 3-5 videos it would like the professional to use as a creative guideline for the final product
1
Milestone 1: Video Outline & Script Finalization
  • Professional reviews assets that the Organization shared (including existing footage and proposed script) to create video outline
  • Professional shares with Organization and incorporates feedback
2
Milestone 2: Video Creation & Feedback
  • Professional creates video in agreed upon format and shares with Organization for feedback (up to 2 rounds)
3
Milestone 3: Final Video Delivery
  • Professional delivers final video in agreed upon format

Our mission

Homicide Survivors, Inc. is on a mission to help meet the crisis and long term needs of families of murder victims through support, advocacy, and assistance.

What we do

In the last year, our organization has supported families of homicide victims by:

Advocating on behalf of their victims' rights on over 90 criminal cases, prosecuted at the county and federal level;

Providing emotional support and direct services to over 2,000 individual survivors through traditional support groups and hosting annual memorial events such as the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims and National Crime Victims Rights Week Candlelight Vigil;

Offering alternative therapies, such as Trauma informed Yoga and Equine Therapy to promote healing;

And providing over $17,000 in direct emergency financial assistance for expenses such as rent and utilities, travel related expenses and lodging for families to attend court, as well as cemetery plot donations.

Testimonials

Autumn was a pleasure to work with! She was eager to assist our organization and completed the project in a timely manner. She was open to feedback and made requested changes to the video to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend Autumn for future projects.
