Project details

What we need
  • An edited 1-3 minute video delivered in electronic format as agreed upon between the Professional and Organization, with HD quality as a master version, along with any agreed upon formats for final usage
What we have in place
  • We currently have 6-7 hours of new raw footage, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have several edited videos with ample B roll, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,422 , allowing us to focus on maintaining and expanding dynamic programs for inmates who are requesting our coaching and training at prisons throughout the state. Sam is eager to share what he has learned as a trainer.

Sam was incarcerated for 17 years and received parole last year as a result of his extraordinary success rehabilitating himself in our program inside Salinas Valley State Prison. A year after his parole, the warden of the prison invited Sam to return to visit with current inmates and lead dialogue circles. We captured several hours of the footage of the visit, Sam's inspiring meeting with the warden, emotional intimate circles with current inmates, lots of B roll and commentary. Needs editing!

Our mission

Center for Council delivers programs and trainings that promote communication, enhance well-being, build community, and foster compassion.

What we do

Our work enables individuals to cultivate tools for improved communication, find common ground with others and create healthy, compassionate and thriving communities. Council fosters recognition of our shared humanity and interconnectedness and enables individuals to give voice to their stories, to develop mutual respect and compassion for others, to cultivate a wholesome response to challenges and stress and to strengthen wellbeing and resilience in themselves and beyond. We like to call it the "ripple effect."

Council practice is at the core of all of our programs. It represents an amalgam of teachings, wisdom traditions and schools of thought from around the globe, blended with science-based mindfulness practices and modern communication techniques developed over several decades. Council offers skillful means for building bridges and developing connection in an increasingly divided world, a tool that can and should be available to all people of all walks of life.
