What we'd like to talk about
I would like strategic advice on how, as a supervisor, to support young employees while also enforcing workplace norms of following through on commitments and responding promptly to scheduling texts.
Additional context
We work with a number of young adults who are working with us as a first job, and experience some degree of mental health challenges. A part of what we do is help these young adults learn some workplace skills, but as of late it has been harder and harder to get our young adults to follow through on much of this. As a supervisor, I wonder if I can respond differently to last minute cancellations, lack of response, or absence at work events in a way that will prevent these things from happening again.
"Phone calls" are 1 hour, one-time calls with an organization. Learn the difference between volunteering on a Phone call and a Project here.
Our mission
The NAN Project works to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention among youth.
What we do
The NAN Project employs a peer-to-peer model to open up the conversation around mental health and educate young people about the supports and resources available.
