What we need
- A compelling narrative, or set of stories
- Persuasive copy that can be used in appeals to donors, annual reports, grant applications, and media relations
- Popular examples: Organization's founding story, a program achievement or milestone, a look back at the past few years, organizational backgrounder, etc.
- Note: This project is not intended to support your general content planning or marketing but there are several projects in our Marketing & Communications category which are a good fit!
Additional details
We're looking for someone with experience in screenwriting to transform our founding story and a client story into a compelling script for a marketing video.
This video will be 5-10 minutes and will be launched on social media to target new donors.
What we have in place
- We have a very rough draft of the script but it needs a lot of work. You can use that and other written examples of our founding story/the client story as a jumping-off point for this project.
We can help with drafting, we just would like an expert involved in the process.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to expand our services across the city and help new people.
Civil legal aid is a very difficult service to explain to potential donors, which is why we've had difficulty in the past. With your expertise, we can make a successful video for social media and grow our donor base.

Our mission
Open Door Legal is an award-winning nonprofit working to eradicate poverty in San Francisco. We believe the best way to do that is to provide universal access to legal aid to everyone. We help our clients with issues like domestic violence, eviction defense, employer abuse, and more.
We are the only universal access center in the nation, meaning we don't turn people away because of arbitrary restrictions. Our work is proven: every $1 we spend on legal help generates $21 in benefit for the community. We can't wait for you to join the team!
