What we need
  • Boilerplate descriptions of Organization or program (50-, 100-, and 200- word versions)
  • List of keywords to use & words to avoid when writing about Organization or program
What we have in place
  • We currently have brochures, videos, documents, and a website, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have time and insight, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,002 , allowing us to expand the programs that we have available to formerly incarcerated students at UC Berkeley.

Underground Scholars is a newer organization with only one staff member. We need updated ways to talk about our work and our impact for prospective students, funders, and our partners.

Berkeley Underground Scholars (BUS) is a non-profit organization that creates a pathway for formerly incarcerated and system impacted individuals into higher education. We are building a prison to university pipeline through recruitment, retention, and advocacy. Our continued success directly challenges the stigmas associated with our population.
