Website Construction (CMS-Based)
Website Construction (CMS-Based)
Project details
What we need
- Development of a new website using a Content Management System (CMS)
- Training to ensure Organization's staff members can update content and manage the site post-launch
- Note: This project is for a website built with a Content Management System (CMS), such as Wordpress, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, or Weebly . A CMS-based website can be maintained and updated easily (no coding required!)
What we have in place
- We already have a running WordPress website with a slightly outdated theme (about 3.5 years old). We have all the content, photos, video, etc that we need, and simply need help transitioning to a new theme. We would love our new Wordpress theme to be mobile responsive and feature many of the same layouts and options as the current site, to make the transition easiest. In the process, we'd like to update some of our navigation and features, and add some student impact stories to our site.
How this will help
This project will save us $16,822 , allowing us to transition more professionals into middle school and high school classrooms. Each teacher will impact over 100 students per year throughout their teaching career.
We recruit science and math professionals to teach in high needs schools, and need a way to more clearly communicate our program so that we can attract these new teachers to the field. In addition, being able to communicate our impact on the classroom and students will help us with fundraising. All of this leads to more highly qualified STEM teachers in high needs classrooms - giving high needs students access and opportunity they might not normally have.
Project plan
Our mission
We are STEM professionals providing high quality education to close achievement gaps for student in low income communities.
Our vision is that all students, regardless of socioeconomic status, have a strong STEM foundation to help them navigate and be successful in an increasingly complex world.
What we do
Enduring STEM achievement gaps continue to disproportionately limit opportunities for low income students and students of color. STEM professionals are uniquely positioned to utilize their real-world expertise to deliver an authentic and relevant education to the students who can benefit most.
The EnCorps STEM Teachers Fellowship recruits, prepares and supports career-changing and retiring STEM professionals, as an innovative, long-term solution to the shortage of high quality, impactful educators for under-resourced students in high need communities.
EnCorps has recruited, selected and supported 1300+ STEM professionals making the transition to K-12 teaching and impacts 35,000+ underserved students annually. EnCorps partners with public schools and charter management organizations to place STEM experts as guest teachers and full-time credentialed instructions in math, science and Career and Technical Education (CTE) subjects.
In recognition of our impact on students and the educational system at large, EnCorps received the US2020 STEM Mentoring Award (2016), the Carl and Roberta Deutsch Foundation HALO Award (2018), and the US 2020 Excellence in Public/Private Partnership (2019). In recognition of our unique approach and innovative work, we have received the Annenberg Challenge for Innovation in Technology Award (2017), and the Silicon Valley Education Foundation STEM Innovation Award (2017), and was a Semifinalist for the Drucker Prize (2018), which recognizes nonprofit innovation.
