    Our mission

The Quest Adventures service learning experience changes the lives of students from urban settings by empowering them through travel, community service, and self-discovery to become contributing citizens of the world.

    What we do

Quest Adventures is a social change organization that provides the
support and systems for Boston urban youth to achieve success as
active, contributing members of their communities through self discovery, travel and service. We believe that having the opportunity to travel gives a broader perspective as individuals, life-long learners, and as global citizens. It also empowers students to appreciate and take advantage of all the opportunities they have here in Boston to change their communities and the world in a positive way.In the spring, Quest Adventures visits Boston Public middle and high schools, makes presentations, and works with teachers who are interested in creating a vision for a service learning trip to take with their students in the winter or spring of the following academic year. After attending the Quest Adventures Educators Conference in September, teams of teachers and students are invited to submit a written proposal for a service learning trip, including a well developed educational and community service plan and budget. Applicants who are selected by the Quest Adventures Alumni Board will receive support grants of up to $5,000. In addition, Quest Adventures initiates a 6-9 month program of sustained support and guidance by providing a “toolbox” for planning and executing the trip. This includes an organizational timeline, outline of a comprehensive fundraising plan, team building and local community service opportunities, and a detailed reflection/evaluation process. We meet twice monthly to monitor progress and work through challenges. After the team reaches the midpoint in its fundraising goal, Quest Adventures awards the support grant. Following the trip, we meet with the entire team to complete an evaluation process that will result in a school-wide presentation and final report to be submitted to Quest Adventures.
