This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to invest in providing direct services to people with mental health and addiction issues, including youth and the homeless.

Project Details

What We Need
  • Well-written and compelling copy for marketing or communication materials; examples include a brochure, one-pager/fact sheet, or fundraising/promotional materials
  • Messaging that is consistent with brand identity, public relations strategy and communications objectives
Additional Details

We have recently rebranded and need a new trifold brochure with a number of rack cards for specific programs and services. We are also currently redoing our website (see project posted for "Website Copy"); the ideal volunteer candidate would be willing to work on copy for both projects so that we can assure a cohesive brand voice across multiple channels.

What We Have In Place
  • We have new key message language, as well as old program descriptions that need to be updated and "spruced up", mirroring the language we will be using on our new website. We have a development director and communications manager who will review the language and link with program staff as needed.
How This Will Help

A new brochure will showcase our new brand, logo and key messages, and help us spread the word about how to access our services, allowing more people to find the help they need for mental health and addiction issues.

Prep: Distribution of Prep Materials
  • Volunteer Manager provides examples of existing communications and marketing materials such as links to website and social media, brochures, and other collateral
  • Volunteer Manager provides brand messaging guide and marketing strategy (if applicable)
  • Volunteer Manager communicates initial concept for deliverables to be created
Milestone 1: Information Gathering
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional connect to discuss goals of copywriting deliverables, target audience, and desired style and tone of writing
Milestone 2: First Draft
  • Professional shares first drafts of copy with Volunteer Manager for feedback with respect to style, tone, clarity, and length
Milestone 3: Finalize Copy
  • Professional incorporates feedback and submits final copy for review

Buckelew Programs helps nearly 10,000 people each year with mental health, addiction, and related behavioral health challenges lead healthier, more independent lives, strengthening families and communities in the process. Buckelew Programs provides a wide range of services for both adults and children in Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, and Lake counties, including supported housing and job training, outpatient psychotherapy, residential detox, and a regional suicide prevention program.
